"The Passing of Arthur" – Handmade Brass Assemblage with Knight Effigy & Regal Detailing
Description:
A singular creation from Order of the Relics, this brass assemblage captures a moment of solemn reverence — the death of a legendary king. Inspired by the mythic final chapter of Le Morte d’Arthur, the scene centres on a fallen knight, laid out in eternal rest, flanked by loyal sentinels and crowned symbols of power.
At the heart lies a cast brass effigy, reminiscent of medieval tomb sculpture — a warrior clad in full armour, hands resting peacefully on his sides. Two brass knights stand watch on either side, shields raised in silent vigil. Behind them, a dramatic altar-like arrangement rises, formed from repurposed antique components: ceremonial axe-heads, radiant bosses, and a regal crowned motif.
Each element in this piece is sourced from antique and vintage brassware — candlesticks, plaques, souvenirware — carefully reassembled into a unified relic that pays homage to chivalry, memory, and myth.
